Devon charity to help households reduce their fuel bills this winter

With many households set to spend more time than ever at home over the coming months, one Devon charity has launched a programme of support to help people save money on heating their homes, including energy saving advice and discounts on heating oil.

Devon Communities Together is offering free online energy saving events and one-to-one personalised advice as part of the Big Energy Saving Network 2020. Each year the charity engages with people all over Devon to help reduce fuel poverty in the county and this autumn/winter this advice looks set to be more important than ever....

Come and get some free advice over a coffee as the Cafe at 36 in Cowick Street, St Thomas, Exeter hosts the Exeter Citizens' Advice Bureau, on Wednesday 24th October 2012, at 2.30 pm. Four volunteers will be available from the Bureau to help people wanting to find out more information about accessing cheaper energy as well as general advice and signposting about welfare, employment, debt, credit and loans.

There will be access to the internet so that the volunteers may demonstrate the help available. People will be able to pick up leaflets and fact sheets to take away.
