Extend your weekend with a Monday afternoon at the races. What better way to start the new week? Gates open at 11:30 ahead of the first race at 13:30. The last race is at 16:30. Please note race times are subject to change so please check the website ahead of the fixture.

Tickets are available online now at www.newtonabbotracing.com priced at £19 for the Paddock Enclosure and £12 for the Course Enclosure. Tickets are available online until 17.00 the day before your selected fixture and will also be available at the gates on the day.

EXETER boys and girls are being invited to get muddy for a good cause - at a brand new event from Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life. The city has been chosen to host Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids for the first time at Westpoint Arena, Exeter on Saturday 21 July. Skipathon launches in Devon

A new fundraising activity aimed at getting schoolchildren more active has been launched for the New Year. Skipathon is aimed at schoolchildren across Devon and Cornwall and will take place 22-26 January. Major refurbishment planned for Furzehill play area in Sidbury

Furzehill play area in Sidbury is to undergo a major £30,000 refurbishment by East Devon District Council and local primary school children and young people from the area have now had their say on what they would like to see there.

Nearly all the play equipment, which has been there for more than thirty years, will be removed when work begins next year. The swing frames are likely to stay and be restored. Exeter City Football Club’s first-team players brought early Christmas magic to the children and teenagers on Bramble Ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, by paying them a special festive visit.



The players delivered dozens of bears, toys, calendars, footballs, signed merchandise, selection boxes and chocolates to the young patients who are sadly spending the festive period on the ward.

The players who visited the ward were captain Jordan Moore-Taylor, Dean Moxey, Jake Taylor, Lloyd James, Craig Woodman, Ryan Brunt and Robbie Simpson.

Exeter Philharmonic Choir sings out to support ‘Farms for City Children’

A charity which gives urban children a better understanding of the countryside is to benefit from Exeter Philharmonic Choir’s two carol concerts next week.

The retiring collection from ‘Carols in the Cathedral’ will go to Farms for City Children, which was founded in Devon over forty years ago by children’s author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare.
