Fire-risk tumble dryers safety warning

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is advising homeowners to check their tumble dryers after Indesit release a warning ‘that they may pose a fire risk.’

The three brands are Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda and include both condenser and vented dryers, which have been marketed over the last 11 years.

It has been identified that in "rare" cases a build-up of lint can come into contact with the dryer's heating element, which could pose a fire risk, resulting in users being warned not to leave their driers unattended and to clean fluff from the filter after each use....

Bring them along to update your child's wardrobe and offer another child the chance to wear something different.

HOW IT WORKS:

FIRST: Sort out your good quality, clean baby or children's clothes , shoes, and accessories in advance of the event (no underwear or school uniform please)

THEN Drop them off at the event venue between 12pm - 2pm on the day

For each item you bring you will receive 1 ticket

Sort out your good quality, clean clothes, shoes and accessories in advance of the event (no swimwear or underwear please!).

You can bring a maximum of 25 items.

Drop them off at the event venue between 12pm - 3pm on the day

For each item you bring you will receive either a gold, silver or white ticket depending on the item's worth.

At 4pm you can swap your tickets for new items which have the same colour tag.

Each attendee will receive a lovely reusable bag to take home their newly found outfits.

Men and women in the South West are being called on to clear out their cupboards, dig through their drawers and donate any unwanted items to TK Maxx’s fundraising campaign for Cancer Research UK - Give Up Clothes for Good.

Give Up Clothes for Good is the UK’s largest and longest running charity clothing collection partnership. Since 2004 the campaign has raised £13.5 million for Cancer Research UK, with over £9 million for research into children's cancers.

My EX Wardrobe Launches in aid of 'Live Life Then Give Life'

Kate Lamport, Queen of Style launched the first of her new ‘My Ex Wardrobe’ pop-up shops with visitors bringing once-loved clothing and accessories to buy and sell. Over 1000 pieces from well-known brands were on display at the event held at Radiance MediSpa and a charity raffle raised £200 for ‘Live Life Then Give Life’.
