After one singing session, we were askedL "Are trained music teachers involved?" Our reply ..."If so they haven't told us" ... probably tells you more about Forever Young Sing for Fun than two paragraphs of descriptive text.

There are a number of fine choirs in Exeter and some of our regulars are also members of these choirs.

It's official, Forever Young Sing for Fun in Exeter is now in its eleventh year.

Most research says that singing is good for you and … your … heart; memory; breathing; social life; wellbeing; mood; soul; asthma; snoring; happiness ... So if I want to sing in a group, but not with a choir, will I still get all the above benefits? As most of the research has been carried out with choirs - the answer is unknown. "We are not a choir" say the ads that, for the past 10 years, have been attracting people to Forever Young Sing for Fun.

Many people who come also sing with formal choirs but like the informal Sing for Fun sessions.

Early in 2007, the new St Sidwell's School, York Road, Exeter opened its doors and Forever Young were the first community group to use the new hall.

Ten years later, the school's new Acting Headteacher, Mr Tom Page, welcomed Forever Young as they began another singing evening.

We are not a choir - started January 2007 - and there is no need to read music, no auditions, no microphones, no rehearsals and no public performances. Sing to backing music with the words projected on the wall. Choose from hundreds of backing tracks and sing about 30 songs on the night. A wide range of music including songs from Abba, The Beatles, Pavarotti, Adele, Frank Sinatra, Queen, Michel Buble, Elvis, Shania Twain and many more....
