Applications are being sought for the latest round of Devon County Council’s Business Promotion Grant.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available to help firms who are looking to reach new customers. The funding, which is offered through a competitive bidding process, is aimed at helping businesses to cover exhibiting costs to promote their products and services to audiences at high profile UK trade shows and events.

Independence secures future for Devon’s Youth Service

Devon’s youth services will be run by a new and independent organisation from 1 February.

DYS Space Ltd, a not- for profit Public Sector Mutual established with the support of Devon County Council, has been appointed to run the county’s youth services for the next three years following a major review of the service, widespread public consultation and a robust procurement process.

Expansion plan for city primary

A £1.8 million expansion plan for an Exeter primary school is set to be given the go ahead next week.

The plan is for St Leonard’s C of E Primary School to expand from 420 children to 630 places by September next year.

This would entail the construction of a new single-storey, six classroom teaching block on the school site off Topsham Road.

A road safety campaign aimed at reminding people not to use their mobile phones while driving is gaining momentum following its launch through social media channels last month.

My Red Thumb is a multi-agency road safety campaign designed to raise awareness of the risks of distractions; and specifically associated with using a mobile phone, whilst driving.
