Cream teas help swell fundraising total for ELF

Ottery coffee shop Tickety-Boo has announced a total of £650 raised for Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).

The most recent campaign held in June was free cream teas in return for a donation, which raised over £60. Around £134 came from the coin spinner in the Play Kingdom and just under £105 from the general collection box and donations from a cookie decorating event at the town’s recent food festival.

These totals were added to funds previously collected, bringing the grand total to £650.

An Ottery café has pledged to fundraise for local charity ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund), which provides vital support to patients and families living with leukaemia.

Tickety-Boo will be raising funds for ELF over the next 12 months using a variety of initiatives that customers young and old can get involved with.

Ideas include an elf treasure hunt, colouring competitions and guessing the number of shells in a beach bucket. A coin spinner in the café means customers can donate any spare change. Tickety-Boo is already offering free coffee grinds to keen gardeners, and any...

The annual memory tree has been put up in the plant centre at Otter Nurseries in Ottery St Mary and now needs to be decorated with plenty of colourful ribbons.

The beautiful fir tree gives families an opportunity to remember loved ones whilst raising funds for Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF), Otter Nurseries Charity of the Year.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is inviting visitors to the Devon County Show to drop in to the Otter Nurseries stand where they can ‘buy a brick’ and donate to the charity’s Chevithorne Appeal.

ELF Fundraiser, Alison Upton explained: “The Chevithorne Appeal will fund a family suite at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital so that critically ill and end of life patients can be together with their loved ones. By Buying a Brick, the general public can help us to achieve this goal.”

Win a barrow-full for charity!

Otter Nurseries is holding a wheelbarrow raffle on Mothering Sunday to raise funds for Charity of the Year, ELF.

Tickets for the raffle cost £1 and will be available to buy at the garden centre near Ottery St Mary all day on March 15.

The lucky winner will not only receive the contents, worth over £150, but also the wheelbarrow itself, bringing the total value of the prize to around £250.

The charity ELF supports families affected by blood disorders and cancers across the South West, and is currently fundraising for a new family suite at RD&E.

Otter Nurseries has chosen ELF (Exeter Leukemia Fund) as its Charity of the Year for 2015.

The Ottery St Mary garden centre is keen to support the charity as it concentrates on its latest project, building a new family suite at the RD&E.

The Chevithorne Suite, based within the hospital, will give patients and their families a self-contained living unit including a bedroom, living room, kitchenette and garden area, creating a private place where end of life patients can spend time with their loved ones.
