Man sentenced following grooming conviction

David Telles, 38, from California, USA, has been sentenced to six years in jail after appearing at Exeter Crown Court yeserday (6 November). Telles pleaded guilty to meeting a child following sexual grooming, abducting a child, three offences of sexual activity with a child, and engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child at a hearing held at Exeter Crown Court in October.

Rogue traders jailed for conning elderly victims

Two men, who pleaded guilty to fraud and consumer protection offences, have received prison sentences for conning elderly and vulnerable people for thousands of pounds.

Rogue traders, James Doran of Quedgely in Gloucester and Patrick Conners of Hatfield in Hertfordshire, pleaded guilty to a variety of offences committed in the summer of 2012 in Plymouth and Exeter.

Trading as South West Drives and Patios, the two approached an elderly Plympton resident to install a block paved driveway at his home.

John Bidmead a 65 year-old former lorry driver has been sentenced to a 19 year prison sentence for child sex offences in Exeter Crown court today.

Bidmead from Cullompton was found with over a million images and videos of child pornography on his computer.

Police began investigating Bidmead after Interpol alerted them that Bidmead had been downloading the images.

A raid on his house caught Bidmead in the act of watching child pornography.

A week long trial at Exeter Crown Court has found two people found guilty of armed robbery today.

Lee Prouse, 24 and Jordanne Morris, 21, both of Stanhope Square in Holsworthy, have been found guilty of robbing Knowle Garage in Braunton on Saturday 10th November 2012.

A third defendant, 28-year-old Jamie Latta, of no fixed address, Barnstaple, pleaded guilty prior to the trial.

CCTV footage shows the masked Latta and Prouse threatening shopkeeper, Trude Mian with a meat-cleaver and a kitchen knife and force her to empty the till.

Mark Noyes sentenced to five years in prison for sexual offences against children

Mark Noyes, 46, has on Wednesday 26 June, been sentenced to five years in prison (with an extended licence of eight years) at Exeter Crown Court after being convicted of numerous sexual offences against children.

The court had heard that Noyes had deliberately accessed a social networking site in order to befriend and groom two vulnerable American girls from his home in Beaworthy.

The two victims involved were aged around 12 years at the time of the incidents.

A cowboy builder from Newton Abbot has pleaded guilty to unfair trading and fraud offences following an investigation by Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service.

Two found guilty of conspiracy to rob and murder Devon songstress Joss Stone

Today at Exeter Crown Court, Junior Bradshaw aged 32 years and Kevin Liverpool, aged 35 years, both from Manchester, were found guilty of conspiracy to rob and murder Joss Stone.

Decade-long dog ban for man who kept collies with carcases

An Okehampton farmer has been banned from keeping dogs for ten years after failing to improve the squalid conditions for his 13 collies, despite several warnings and advice from Devon County Council.
