Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive Tony Rowe OBE was among the major award winners at the Express & Echo's Business of the Year Awards held at Sandy Park last Friday.

Bringing together the cream of the region's business talent, Mr Rowe was awarded the night's 'Lifetime Achievement' award for his outstanding efforts not only with the Chiefs, but also with the South West Communications Group and several other businesses throughout the local area.

Chiefs side to face Warriors

Joyce Matthews from Pendeen in West Cornwall passed away peacefully at her home in Exeter on 1 April 2014 at the age of 91.

The daughter of John and Alice Roberts and sister of Rowenna, Madge and John, she grew up in Pendeen before training in London and Windsor during the Second World War, initially at Norlands and then at Great Ormond Street, Queen Charlotte and King Edward VII hospitals during which she won the Gold Medal as the best nursing student. Her nursing career then took her to South Africa and North Rhodesia (now Zambia) where she became Matron of the Anglo American...

STONE Raymond Alan

Peacefully on 30 March 2014 at Culm Valley Care Centre, Raymond aged 83 years.

He leaves a widow and four children.

Peacefully at home on Thursday 3 April 2014 after a short illness bravely fought, Jean aged 85 years.

On 27 March 2014 Don passed away peacefully in hospital aged 83.

Husband of the late Jill for 49 years, loved dad of Alan and Bev, Philip and Jenny and a proud grandad of Nell, Cameron, Hannah and Michael.
