We first saw the side swept plait in 2010 for Alexander Wang by session stylist and Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau. He wanted something that was sexy, cool and casual. He added extensions for extra thickness and length and did a simple three strand plait pinned loosely on the side and pulled over the shoulder. Everyone from Victoria Beckham to Cheryl Cole wore this and today there is a great fresh up-to-date version of this original look.
In 2012 we are wearing this look still loosely pinned and to the side but with a twist. This is now with a super easy fishtail...
People don’t often talk about the downside of singing. A few years ago Chris Rowbury wrote something about it in his blog - http://blog.chrisrowbury.com/2011/04/why-singing-is-bad-for-you-and-7.html We know about the health and social benefits but, apart from Chris, few mention the problems.
Singing can become addictive — once you start it’s very hard to stop. It’s such an enjoyable activity that you will start noticing it everywhere and begin to take every opportunity you can to sing and even whistle (space limitations prevent a detailed description of the negative aspects of...
Exeter city centre manager John Harvey will be submitting a full report on the successful opening of John Lewis yesterday. Although there were a few 'teething problems' mainly to do with water flooding the lower ground floor, and insufficient water pressure in the 4th floor restaurant the day is being described as a resounding success for the whole city centre. Mr Harvey is extremely optimistic for an increasingly busy weekend.

Vaughan Williams' tribute to Tallis calls for a large string orchestra divided into three parts: the full string choir, a single desk from each section and a solo string quartet. The Tallis melody "Why fum'th in fight the Gentiles spite, in fury raging stout?" is one of nine included in the Psalter of 1567 for the first Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury. The theme is heard in its complete form three times and serves as the source for a wonderful miasma of variants and developments in this rich orchestral composition.
