Exeter Forum is shortlisted for Construction News Award

Exeter Forum has been selected as a finalist in the Project of the Year (between £10m - £50m) category for the 2013 Construction News Awards, to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on 11 July 2013.

A record number of entries were submitted for this year’s Construction News Awards. Finalists will now face Dragons' Den-style live interviews to members of the 53-strong jury of esteemed key clients, contractors, consultants, institutes and government departments including:

University of Exeter celebrates Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year is the biggest and most important festival in China. 2013 is the Year of the Snake and is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of twelve animal signs. The University of Exeter will be celebrating the Year of the Snake on Saturday 16th February in the city and on the Streatham Campus.

Health and medicine showcase hailed a success

A dynamic event highlighted the wide range of medical and health research involving the University of Exeter, the NHS and business partners.

Staff from a number of University departments, the NHS, local charities and businesses, as well as students, gathered in the Forum, to speak to researchers first-hand about their pioneering work as part of a poster display.

Countryside enthusiasts needed to help shape policy

People with a keen interest in our local countryside are invited to join the Devon Countryside Access Forum (DCAF) to help improve recreational opportunities for people to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Forum, now about to enter its 10th year of operation is supported by Devon County Council and is an independent and statutory advisory body. It currently has 15 volunteer members who meet several times a year to consider policy issues aimed at making the countryside more accessible and enjoyable.

Event Exeter part of biggest BBC Children in Need night ever

Hundreds of staff, students and local people joined the BBC in the Forum at the University on Friday 16 November for the annual Children in Need broadcast.

Hosted by BBC presenters David Fitzgerald and Victoria Graham, the festivities started at 1.30pm. The event, which was managed by the Event Exeter team in collaboration with University colleagues, featured live broadcasts by the BBC Spotlight team as well as linking to the national TV network programme throughout the evening.

Children in Need party at the University of Exeter tonight

An Event Exeter venue, The Forum at the University of Exeter, will tonight host BBC Children in Need in the South West.

Starting at 1.30pm, there will be live feature broadcasts by the BBC Spotlight team on BBC1 as well as live links to the national TV network programme throughout the evening.

Opened by Her Majesty The Queen in May this year, the Forum is the newest venue in Event Exeter’s portfolio and boasts state-of-the-art technology and a range of attractive spaces suitable for any event.
