Exeter Pre-Prep pupils run over 100 miles to raise money for local charity

Pupils at Exeter Pre-Prep School in Exminster have recently run the equivalent of four marathons as part of a sponsored fun run to raise money for Westbank Community Health and Care, a local charity that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people across Devon.

With 72 children under the age of seven, the school hoped that pupils and staff would be able to run a collective marathon (26 miles) throughout the day, with each class taking turns to run laps around the school grounds. Big hearted children at an Exeter primary school have raised nearly £2,000 for charity by taking part in a fun run.

Pupils at Wynstream School on Burnthouse Lane chose to support FORCE Cancer Charity, which has its headquarters just a 10-minute walk away.

Nearly every one of their 350 pupils, from reception class to Year 6, got involved.

They walked, jogged and ran laps of the school playing field for up to 40 minutes.

The Second annual Charity Fun Run in the new and growing town of Cranbrook. 1K, 2.5K and 5K circuits. We need to use circuits at the moment (2 circuits for 5K), this event tracks the country park and town as they grow over the next 16 years.

This is a chance to run the living history of the town being built just outside of Exeter.

Only a few stops on the Waterloo Line from Exeter and Honiton Sorry, no timings will be recorded. 1K course suitable for young children, buggy runners, etc.

Join the Exeter City FC Santa Dash

The annual Exeter City FC Santa Dash will be taking place ahead of the Carlisle match on 13 December 2014.

As usual, the dashers will be setting off from the Guildhall at 1.15pm, with the Deputy Lord Mayor seeing everyone on their way.

The one-mile route will be the same as in previous years and there will be medals and certificates for the adults and children who arrive at St James Park first!

Entries are now open for the UK’s craziest, most colourful sponsored 5k event for all the family – the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) Rainbow Run at Exeter Racecourse on Sunday 8 June.

You can run it. You can walk it. You can even skip it.
