Fundraising dinner raises £7,500 to combat homelessness across Exeter

On Friday 12th October YMCA Exeter held its third annual fundraising dinner at Woodbury Park Hotel with guests including The High Sheriff of Devon, Mrs Grania Philips, and Chief Constable of Devon & Cornwall Police, Shaun Sawyer.

The Black Tie event was attended by 160 people and through ticket sales, a silent auction and individual pledges, and so far YMCA Exeter have raised £7,500 with donations still being made.

A fundraising evening organised by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes has raised £6,500 for The Exeter Foundation charity, with money raised going towards helping a range of charities and groups across the region.

Staff from the five star housebuilder together with suppliers and sub-contractors enjoyed a black tie evening at Sandy Park, the home of the Exeter Chiefs which included a presentation by Exeter Foundation chairman Tony Rowe and included a raffle, auction and fundraising casino.

Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce that antiques expert and television presenter Tim Wonnacott will join its 50th anniversary gala line-up in November.

David Suchet joins Exeter Northcott Anniversary Gala line-up

Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce that celebrated actor David Suchet will perform in its 50th anniversary gala in November.

David is an Olivier and Emmy Award winner, best known for playing Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot having starred in all 74 television movies over 25 years. Suchet has also starred in numerous films and television series internationally whilst also maintaining an impressive theatre career.

In 1970, Suchet played the role of Petruchio in the Exeter Northcott’s production of The Taming of the Shrew.

Dame Judi Dench announced as Exeter Northcott Patron

Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce that the highly acclaimed and much loved actress Dame Judi Dench has accepted to be Patron for its 50th anniversary year, 2017-2018.

Dame Judi is admired around the world for a 60 year career of phenomenal performances on both stage and screen. She has won an Academy Award, ten BAFTA Awards and six Laurence Olivier Awards. In recognition of her many achievements, she received an OBE in 1970, became a DBE in 1988, and in 2005 was awarded a Companion of Honour.
