3 for 2 Tapas Thursdays

LATE night shoppers in Exeter can sample Spanish delights with 3 for 2 tapas on Thursday evenings at The Magdalen Chapter. Launched to coincide with the much-anticipated late night shopping in the city, shoppers can rest their heavy bags and taste the all-new tapas menu.

A new wine list has also been introduced for Summer 2014 and features 14 open wines. These include a New Zealand Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc, an Italian Conto Vecchio Pinot Grigio Blush and an Alto Bajo Merlot.

Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association members report bumper January

Members of the Hotels and Restaurants Association are reporting increased sales in January 2014, compared to the same trading period last year. For many January is a month of penny pinching but local hotels are seeing a different trend.

Establishments including the Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel; the Sidholme Hotel, Sidmouth; Combe House, Honiton and the Best Western Tiverton Hotel have reported positive figures in January with sales up as much as 20% for individual hotels. Other members including Rendezvous Wine Bar are reporting increased sales too, with an increase of over 30%...

Double donations for Devon Hotels

Devon Hotels raised over £1,000 for the RNLI and Hospitality Action following a charity auction at their Annual Association Dinner, with each charity receiving £500 to put towards the valuable work they do.

James Sharp, Chair of Devon Hotels said: “We are grateful to our members for raising such a fantastic sum of money for these groups and for the prizes that they donated. Devon Hotels represents more than 50 hotels and restaurants in the county and the work that both the RNLI and Hospitality Action do is imperative to our industry, as well as Devon’s tourism.”
