Exeter College Celebrates Another Year of Excellent Academic Results

Exeter College is celebrating another year of exceptional academic results, following the best International Baccalaureate results in the college’s history earlier this summer. Today’s A Level results are also setting new records, with students achieving an overall pass rate of 99.7%, well above the national average of 97.6%.

The success is particularly notable as this is the first year that all A Level results have rested solely on a final exam at the end of two years of academic study, rather than a combination of results achieved over two years.

Exeter College celebrates best ever academic results

Today Exeter College is celebrating the achievement of exceptional A Level results, with this year’s students setting a new college record for achieving the very highest grades.

A record number of the top grades (A*, A, B) have been awarded to students at the college, with an incredible number - 57% achieving the very highest levels of achievement.

In July, the college’s International Baccalaureate (IB) students celebrated a 100% pass rate with an average score of 34 points, some way above world average and the best results in the college’s 19 years of delivering the IB....

Royal approval for Exeter School pupils

Three Economics A Level pupils from Exeter School have been highly commended in the prestigious Royal Economics Society Essay competition.

Max Brewer, Matthew Hills and Charlie Holmes wrote essays on one of six different topics, competing against over 1,600 entrants.

Upper Sixth Former Max was placed on the shortlist of final entrants, putting him in the top ten for his essay entitled: ‘Promoting growth and fighting poverty should be the priority in the developing world, not reducing greenhouse gases’.

Prestigious national engineering scholarship awarded to two Exeter School pupils

Sebastian Wright and James Krafft from Exeter School have been awarded a sought-after Arkwright Engineering Scholarship that identifies them as some of the country’s future leaders in engineering and related areas of design. Seven Exeter School pupils have been awarded Arkwright scholarships in the last four years. The renowned Arkwright Engineering Scholarships provide pupils with a £600 financial award to enhance their A Level studies and a range of activities to increase their understanding and experience of engineering. New After-School Tuition Centre to open in Exeter

Mother and daughter team Diane Antone and Tamsin Scott are bringing to Exeter their ten-years of expertise from running their own, independent After-School Tuition Centre in East Sussex.

Located at 13 Queen's Terrace, right beside the Clock Tower and with a car park just opposite, their Centre will open to teach maths and English to ages 4 to 18 on 25th February.
