Macmillan says ‘thank you’ to Devon

As 2014 gets into full swing, Macmillan Cancer Support in Devon is reflecting on donations made in 2013 and how they will make a difference to people living with a cancer diagnosis locally.

People in Devon gave £948,504 to Macmillan last year, allowing the charity to provide vital new services to people affected by cancer in 2014. Holistic weekend at Bickleigh Castle

If you fancy a relaxing day out for a small cost, which also helps Macmillan Cancer Support, then you should head to Bickleigh Castle across 22-23 March.

Crystal Clear, who regularly host holistic events which encourage visitors to embrace their spiritual selves, are holding a holistic weekend at the beautiful Bickligh Castle.

The event costs only £2.50 and aims to support Macmillan Cancer Support.

There will be an array of different activites to take part in, in various areas of the castle.

Le Havre to Nice run raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support charity

At the beginning of August 2013, James Berry and good friend Matt Fotheringham began the mammoth task of running the full length of France, from Le Havre in the north to Nice in the south, a total of 720 miles.

Their initial aim was to complete the challenge within the 31 days of August having run 630 miles, however their initial route had to change adding on 90 miles, despite this they managed to reach the finish line 5 days ahead of schedule.

Running with the bare essentials and camping almost every night, the boys completed this challenge relatively unsupported.
