The X-Factor comes to Exeter

The UK’s favourite singing show, The X Factor, is back and on the lookout for the next big breakout music stars with the audition team back on the road, scouring the country for budding hopefuls to take part in series 16 of the hit music show.

The audition tour will be a nationwide search and is coming to the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter on Saturday 2 February. Auditions take place between 9am and 6pm and it couldn’t be simpler to apply.

Beyond the Barricade bring you all the musical theatre classics

Now in the 20th successive year, Beyond The Barricade, the show that recreates original West End/Broadway musical hit songs with amazing authenticity, will visit Exeter's Northcott Theatre this Saturday, 12th January.

Made up of a cast of past principal performers from Les Miserables, this blockbusting two hour show, has delighted audiences throughout the UK, mainland Europe, Asia and New Zealand for two decades and in doing so, has established itself as the one of the nation’s longest running musical theatre concerts.

Alex Wilson (piano) and Alex Poulton (baritone) perform music of the early 20th Century, including rarely heard music by Ivor Gurney, Benjamin Britten and Frederick Septimus Kelly. Come to hear some music that hasn’t been performed in over 100 years in advance of a Toccata Classics CD release of previously unrecorded piano works by F.S.Kelly later in the year.

Entry is Free, with a retiring collection in aid of the Music Room Restoration Fund.
