Donovan to headline Chagstock 2016

Chagstock Festival organisers have confirmed that Rock N Roll & Songwriting Hall Of Famer, Donovan will headline Friday night on the festival’s 10th Anniversary this July.

Donovan is a legendary Scottish Poet, folk-rock & pop-troubadour who has been an essential part of worldwide popular culture since signing to Pye Records in 1965. Best known for his signature song, ‘Mellow Yellow’, Donovan has recorded more than 27 albums, and his 1967 hit, ’Sunshine Superman’ (featuring Jimmy Page on Guitar and John Paul Jones on Bass) was a US No.1 single.

How one folk musician and composer’s passion for the first music machine has seen him embrace the very latest 21st century music technology.

Concert of folk songs for International Women’s Day

Saturday 12th March sees a new show of folk songs come to the Cygnet Theatre in Exeter, celebrating women from history.

The show is being curated by three of the team from Wren Music – Amy Wilson, Sarah Owen and Marilyn Tucker (pictured), and has already recruited a chorus of 30 women who are sure to make the evening extra special.

Although the arts organisation already runs five community choirs across the county, they spotted an opportunity to bring together a women-only singing group specifically to celebrate women’s history for international women’s day.

Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum Development Trust announces today that Rathbone Investment Management is sponsoring the fifth series of classical concerts at the museum in April, May and June 2016.

Following the successful concert series held over the past four years, RAMM’s Development Trust has organised another series of classical concerts to be held at RAMM.
