To mark the tragic anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the country’s nine-year war for independence, Maketank, Exeter’s cultural laboratory, and the Devon Ukrainian Association are presenting an exhibition of frontline photography by Vlada and Kostiantyn Liberov.

Among the first civilians to enter Ukraine’s north-eastern Kharkiv region just behind the successful counteroffensive that forced the Russian military to retreat, the Liberovs have seen with their own eyes the horrors of this war and the joy of ‘liberated’ Ukrainians.

Ordnance Survey launches front cover photo competition for new OS Explorer Dartmoor map

OS is running a contest to find a new front cover image for its popular OL 28 Dartmoor Explorer map.

The competition, run in conjunction with Dartmoor National Park, intends to find a beautiful image to represent the picturesque moorland in 2021.

It is being held to commemorate 70 years of National Parks.

Photography competition to capture wildlife on the doorstep proves popular

Organisers of a photography competition to capture wildlife in the garden have been delighted by a flood of entries.

In just a few days since the competition was launched, Exeter City Council has received 33 entries. People have until the end of the month to send in their images.

Cllr Duncan Wood, Lead Councillor for Leisure and Physical Activity, said he was over overjoyed by the response.

People are being encouraged to take photographs of ‘Wildlife at Home’ in a fantastic new competition with some great prizes up for grabs.

Exeter City Council has partnered up with Devon Wildlife Trust, who manage Exeter’s Valley Parks on behalf of the Council, to see what wildlife people have in their gardens or backyards across the city.

The competition – which is open to everyone in Exeter (see restrictions below) – supports the government’s ‘Stay at Home’ message in trying to stop the spread of Covid-19, whilst at the same time helps mental well-being and encourages...

Gregory looking for old photographs for heritage museum

Our Lives, Our Community, Our Voice free photography course

Meridian Raw CIC, a local social enterprise, is offering 15 places on a free 14-week participatory photography course for the local Exeter community. First Great Western have launched a photo competition to capture the beautiful scenery of the UK.

They're looking to see who can uncover some of the hidden gems of Exeter and the South West, or simply show the places you've travelled to by train this summer.
