Pick up poop say Cranbrook kids

Children of St Martin’s Primary School have been creating a new poster design to encourage Cranbrook residents to clean up after their dogs.

Children at the school recently heard from Cranbrook Councillor Karen Jennings at an assembly about the dog fouling around the town. Children were asked if they could help teach adults to be responsible pet owners, to help make Cranbrook a great place to live.

City gears up for Mum's Bike Ride

A family from Exeter are asking for support for their second annual bike ride in memory of their late mother and wife, Bridget Johns, who sadly lost her battle with cancer in March last year.

Chris Johns, one of the organisers of the event and owner of Exeplore - The Bike Bus says: “Mum’s Bike Ride was such a great success last year, we had such an amazing turnout.

"We would like to bring even more families together and remember loved ones in 2015.

"Unfortunately many families are affected by cancer, so all our proceeds are going to support Cancer Research. Together...

No trick or treat poster

Devon and Cornwall Police have launched a campaign encouraging residents who do not want to be bothered by trick-or-treaters to place this poster on the front door or window of their home.

Some people, particularly if elderly or vulnerable, might be distressed by strangers knocking at their door during the evening.

A spokesman said: "We are asking people not to call at homes that are displaying the poster.

Young poster competition winner transported back in time

Seven year old Aidan Bown was “transported back in time”, with a ride on a 1966 London Transport Vintage Routemaster, as part of his prize for winning a competition to design a poster. The Woodbury C of E Primary School pupil won the school drawing competition launched earlier this year during Catch the Bus Week, which is co-ordinated by the Greener Journeys sustainable travel campaign and supported by Devon County Council and Stagecoach South West.
