The Awards celebrate the exciting projects, great companies and inspiring people behind the sustainable energy revolution in the south west of England. The first ever Renewable Energy Bake Off is being held to celebrate renewable energy and delicious baked goods. The event takes place as part of Renewable Energy Marketplace, the largest energy event in the south west.

A new report, released today by renewable energy experts Regen SW, reveals that 16,000 people are employed by south west construction businesses in making our homes more energy efficient – but with, the right backing, this could be much higher.

Applications for the new phase of the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, designed to help people make energy saving improvements to their home, will open to applications before the end of November. A new project to support the growing community energy movement is being launched today by Regen SW funded nationally by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation with additional support being made available in Devon by Devon County Council.

Twenty three MPs demonstrated their support for the development of a world-leading renewable energy industry in the South West of England on 4 June, when they signed up to the UK’s first regional renewable energy manifesto at Westminster.
