There’s a new interactive way to report graffiti in the city. The new updated system speeds up the reporting of graffiti and gives the public ongoing progress updates. The City Council cleans off for free any graffiti from private homes provided the owners sign a disclaimer form. The new system allows for real-time alerts to be sent directly to the clean-up teams, allowing them to prioritise and email customers to inform them that the job is complete. Councillors have firmly expressed their concerns in relation to reports of racially motivated incidents across the UK, and reiterated a commitment to tackling the problem of prejudice and hate crime in Devon.

Campaign aims to encourage people to report suspicions of child abuse

A third of people who suspect child abuse do nothing to report it, according to the Department for Education.

Many don't report their suspicions because they're worried about being wrong or that they're overreacting, the Government says. But in a new national campaign, being promoted locally by Devon County Council, the message is that you don't have to be absolutely certain about your suspicions before reporting them.

People across Devon and Cornwall are being asked to share their experiences of using the police non-emergency number 101.

Based on feedback he receives during engagement events Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg has today launched a major public consultation as part of his office’s review into the 101 service.

The review will be led by Dr Karen Vincent, the OPCC’s Performance and Customer Service Manager, in collaboration with the Force and will assess how well the service is meeting the needs of callers and to identify and deliver any required changes.
