The number of us taking the time to sit and chat with someone close is dwindling, according to new research from the mental health anti-stigma programme Time to Change, which shows that nearly two thirds of people (59%) in the South West admit they should talk to family and friends more often than they currently do.
The findings were released on the first ever national Time to Talk Day (6 February) which aimed to spark one million conversations about mental health.

UK retailers have withdrawn controversial costumes from sale following criticism on social media.
The costumes attracted a number of complaints for being insensitive to people with mental health problems.
Asda, owned by US company Walmart, received the bulk of the criticism - via the social media site Twitter - over its sale of a ‘mental patient costume’.

Mental Health organisations from across Devon will be holding a day of activities and advice for World Mental Health day. There will be workshops with a variety of activities including circus skills, reflexology and other workshops on wellbeing techniques. Charities including Mind Exeter and East Devon and Rethink Mental Illness as well as several others will be on hand to offer advice on the services they provide as well as information on campaigns they are currently running.
