James Phillips insists Saturday's win at Newcastle Falcons was the perfect way for him to bring down the curtain on his Exeter Chiefs career.

After four seasons at Sandy Park, the imposing forward is set for pastures new next season having sealed a move to Championship side London Scottish. However, he departs the Devon club not only with plenty of good memories, but safe in the knowledge that he has helped forge the Chiefs as one of the leading clubs in English rugby.

Exeter Chiefs captain Dean Mumm believes the emergence of so many of the club's highly-rated youngsters this term means the Devon club have plenty to be cheerful about moving forward into next season.

The Devon club wrapped up their fourth Aviva Premiership campaign on Saturday with a 23-13 victory at Newcastle Falcons thanks in the main to tries from Luke Cowan-Dickie, Ben White and Fetu'u Vainikolo.

Young fly-half Henry Slade weighed in with the remainder of the visiting points to ensure the Chiefs claimed not only a league double over the Northerners, but also eighth...

Taione keen to get started

Elvis Taione says he cannot wait to pull on an Exeter Chiefs jersey for the first time after completing his move from Championship side Jersey. The Tongan international is the latest addition to the playing ranks at Sandy Park ahead of next season and his arrival will help bolster the club's options for the No.2 jersey following the retirement of Chris Whitehead. Although at Jersey for only one season, the 30-year-old hooker is relishing the prospect of testing himself in the cut and thrust of the Aviva Premiership. "To be given the opportunity to join one of the strongest sides in England...

Baxter's joy as Cowan-Dickie agrees deal

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has spoken of his delight after highly-rated forward Luke Cowan-Dickie today put pen to paper on a new contract with the Aviva Premiership club.

The 20-year-old’s new deal – which is a two-year extension to his current contract – will keep him at Sandy Park until at least the summer of 2017 and is another clear indicator that Baxter is willing to back the club’s crop of promising youngsters to deliver on the big stage.

Cornishman Cowan-Dickie, a product of the club’s academy system at Truro College, has built on the success of helping...

Cowan-Dickie signs new deal

It’s been quite a year for Luke Cowan-Dickie, but the young Cornishman is predicting even brighter times ahead for him at Exeter Chiefs in the future.

The 20-year-old hooker today extended his stay at Sandy Park until 2017 when he penned terms on a new contract extension with head coach Rob Baxter.

In a 12-month period that has seen Cowan-Dickie help England Under-20s to Junior World Championship glory; the Chiefs to lift their first major silverware in 143 years; as well as featuring in the Aviva Premiership and Heineken Cup, it’s little wonder the Truro-born forward has...

Exeter Chiefs triumphant in today's match against Falcons

Newcastle Falcons 13 Exeter Chiefs 23

With Stuart Lancaster’s options for the England No.2 jersey somewhat stretched right now, Exeter Chiefs starlet Luke Cowan-Dickie reminded the Red Rose supremo of his blossoming talents.

The 20-year-old hooker was the stand-out figure as the Chiefs wrapped up their fourth season in English rugby’s top flight with a 23-13 victory on the road at Newcastle Falcons.

Cowan-Dickie not only claimed the first of Exeter’s three tries on the day, but his live-wire performance throughout would have been duly noted by the watching Lancaster...

After 21 rounds of bruising battle in the Aviva Premiership, Exeter Chiefs will head out at Newcastle Falcons tomorrow determined to land a telling final blow. In a season of highs and lows for Rob Baxter’s side, the dream of tackling Europe’s elite may have been curtailed with last weekend’s late loss to Harlequins, but as a whole the Chiefs leader insists there is much to be positive about ahead of their trip to Kingston Park. With the first major silverware in the bag, another tidy showing in the Heineken Cup and some notable scalps within the Premiership, Baxter says the foundations...
