The publishers of the Daily Mirror have confirmed they are in talks about buying a minority stake in a new company that would take over the running of Exeter's Express & Echo and the Western Morning News in Plymouth.

It has been reported that Northcliffe Media, which owns the E&E and WMN, is considering a merger with another publisher, Iliffe News & Media, to form a new business called Local World.

Speculation is continuing to grow over the possible sale of the company that owns Exeter's Express & Echo newspaper.

The E&E is owned by the Daily Mail group and reports suggest it is discussing the sale in a deal that would see 84 titles, including the Echo, sold to a new firm that is backed by private equity.

The new venture, called Local World, would also buy family-owned regional newspaper and property group, Yattendon, which has 30 titles.

The newspaper group which owns Exeter's Express & Echo is widely reported to be in talks over the future of the business. Northcliffe Media is apparently in negotiations over a deal to pool its regional titles with another company. Both the Sunday Times and Financial Times said the deal was being led by David Montgomery, the former Mirror Group CEO. The FT said talks were at an advanced stage but sources warned they could still fall through. The Hub on the Green is in a beautiful medieval building on the Cathedral Green.

Our next Craft & Cake Fair is on May 18th. Our fairs are family friendly with our pop-up cafe full of delicious homemade cakes (chocolate brandy cake and the brownies are firm favourites).

We have Nina Fenner's handmade books stall and she will be running a making table too, we have a book-signing with Darren Marsh (his new book about Exeter and it's buildings includes the hub), and we have Lou Bluebird and Exeter Baking Club who will be baking for us. Yum!

We are helping to raise money for a brilliant charity called the Women's Land Army Tribute, they are raising enough funds to erect a permanent memorial to the land girls, as currently there is no national memorial to commemorate.

We have a brilliant array of local small independent business and talented handmade sellers. We are passionate about supporting and promoting our local sellers.
