Its research showed that in the week before the UK’s COVID-19 lockdown was announced, more than 500 e-commerce start-ups were formed. Five weeks later, that figure had risen exponentially to almost 1,300 e-commerce start-ups per week – around 800 more than the same week in 2019.

Owen Boylan from the Hendy Car Store in Exeter has picked up a key award at the recent Hendy Sales Awards which honour the group’s leading employees.

Owen was named Car and Van Store sales executive of the year for his work at the annual awards which were hosted by TV comedian Rob Beckett

The group has 57 franchise outlets across 30 locations and employs more than 1,100 people in Devon, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
