Topless man threatens to jump from Exeter Central Station bridge

All trains between Exeter Central Station and St David's Station were cancelled for over an hour this evening, while Queen Street was cordoned off to traffic, while police and fire crews dealt with a topless man threatening to jump from Central Station bridge.

Witness reports said that the man had fled from the Co-operative on Queen Street before getting onto the bridge and threatening to jump onto the tracks. Police negotiators managed to talk the man down and took him into custody.

Trains are now running again and the Queen Street cordon has been lifted.
