Official representatives of the Blackfoot Nation of Canada will be visiting RAMM to offer their knowledge about sacred regalia held by the museum. This is the first time it has been accessed by the Blackfoot Nation in 130 years. It is special because it was once owned by Isapo-muxika (Crow Indian’s Big Foot or Crowfoot) an important Blackfoot leader at a time when Canada was being created using their land. Through colonial hands the regalia was sold to the museum in 1904.
This lecture will present a Blackfoot history of Crowfoot and the effects this has on Blackfoot people today...
