First students set to graduate from Exeter’s pioneering nursing degree programme

The first students from Exeter’s pioneering four-year MSci Nursing programme are set to graduate this weekend, before starting their new careers as healthcare leaders of the future.

The 25 new graduates were the first to embark on the University of Exeter’s innovative MSci Nursing degree, which launched in 2019. The degree equips students to face the current and future challenges of the NHS. Dementia research charity awards Exeter scientists £370k to accelerate progress for a cure

Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity, has funded three researchers from the University of Exeter to carry out projects aimed at finding new treatments, boosting early diagnosis, and understanding the disease’s causes.

The £370k grants are part of a wider a £3 million funding announcement that will help to accelerate effective treatments for dementia.

When Emily Simons graduated from the University of Exeter she was following what has become a unintended family tradition - following in the footsteps of both her mother and grandfather.
