Fundraisers needed for rebrickulous Lego Walk

Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families, is appealing for fundraisers to sign up for its charity Lego Walk, on Sunday 31st May, 2020.

Lego walking has become increasingly popular in recent years with the current Guinness World Record being held by Sonny Molina, from Illinois, USA, who walked 12,696ft 2in over the interlocking plastic bricks.

Archaeological finds revealed as High Street work finishes ahead of schedule

Essential work to address persistent drainage and subsidence problems in Exeter’s High Street, between Mountain Warehouse/Martins Lane and Broadgate, has been completed almost two weeks ahead of schedule, Devon County Council has announced.

The problem, the cause of the subsidence it appears, was a failure of the street's drainage and poor condition of a 4" water main running through the High Street.

The work, which started on 16 January, has included drainage, footway and road works. Wales and West Utilities have also replaced a gas main from Broadgate to Burger King....

Ancient South Devon boundary wall saved

National Trust has been able to carry out extensive repair work to dry stone walls around East Soar Farm near Salcombe. Funded through Natural England’s Higher Level Stewardship Scheme, these boundary walls are over 200 years old.

Contractor Mark Newman Stonework has been working with his team for three months, repairing and rebuilding in total over 350m of wall. Some of the work has been on some very steep cliffs where the wall has collapsed over time and has been a challenge for the team to work on, particularly in the recent weather.
