One of East Devon District Council’s most popular nature reserves, Seaton Wetlands, has earned well deserved recognition as one of Devon’s top tourist attractions, by winning a Bronze award at the prestigious Devon Tourism Awards, held at Highbullen Hotel Golf & Country Club in North Devon.
Seaton Wetlands picked up its Bronze award in the Small Attraction of the Year category, alongside fellow Bronze winner Torre Abbey Museum, while Quince Honey Farm won Silver and Stuart Line Cruises were awarded Gold.

The East Devon District Council Countryside Rangers have been left puzzled by some unusual feeding behaviour of a Barn Own at Seaton Wetlands.
Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve, which is managed by the Countryside team on behalf of the council is home to a range of birds. Barn Owls are often seen flying over the reserve, particularly on summer evenings or in the morning after a wet night.

Volunteers and Countryside rangers welcome nesting kestrels to Seaton's local nature reserve
In the spirit of spring cleaning, the East Devon District Council Countryside team, with the support of three volunteers, has replaced a kestrel box at Seaton Wetlands. Seaton Wetlands is a popular breeding ground for kestrels and has several boxes located across the reserve. These boxes are mounted high on poles and are therefore challenging to check, clean and repair. Seaton Wetlands local nature reserve has an off-road mobility Tramper which is available to hire for those with limited mobility.
East Devon District Council's Countryside service, which runs Seaton Wetlands is asking members of the public to help come up with a name for the Tramper vehicle.

The 1st Lym Valley Scout group had a wonderful morning down at Seaton Wetlands on March 20, as part of their weekend adventure.
After camping at Seaton Scout hut, the Scouts walked to Seaton Wetlands nature reserve to undertake an orienteering challenge. They worked together to navigate their way around Colyford Common and back to the Wetlands Reed Base.
