Jollyween half term fun at Pennywell Farm

Pennywell is gearing up for a very special week of activities, so treat your family to a day out this October half term and be part of our annual Jollyween festival.

All the animals will be waiting for their last cuddle of the season and we have a whole week of hands on Jollyween fun to brighten up your autumn. You can even cuddle a world famous Pennywell miniature pig.

There are all your favourite activities like bottle feeding, ferret racing and miniature pig racing as well as some very special themed events throughout the day.

Pumpkin carving is not to be missed...

A Haunted History of Cricklepit Mill

With almost 800 years of history, Cricklepit Mill certainly has a few spooky stories to tell.

Enjoy a Halloween-themed tour of the mill as your guide reveals the history of the mill throughout the ages, along with some ghostly goings-on and local superstitions, plus other spooktacular tales from the surrounding area.

Don’t be scared - come along - you're in for a treat!

Celebrate Devon Hedge Week and learn hedge laying

Celebrate Devon Hedge Week with an introductory training course on hedge-laying.

Hedge-laying is a traditional way of maintaining a stock-proof and wildlife-rich hedge.

This day is for adults and will teach the basics of hedge-laying involving the use of saws and hedging tools in the field.

The Secret Life of Lichens at Haldon Forest Park
