Police have welcomed the custodial sentence given to a 24-year-old Plymouth man jailed for nine months after filming himself travelling at 153mph on a motorcycle.

Ashley Dixon, from Plymouth, used a helmet camera to record himself on motorcycles travelling through rural roads in Devon and was described by the Judge sentencing him as a ‘lunatic’.

Dixon, who pleaded guilty to two counts of dangerous driving, appeared at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday and was jailed for nine months and banned from driving for two years.
