Explore a winter wonderland of art, crafts and handmade gifts at the Boatyard Studio, open 10-4 on Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.

Nestled between the canal and the river, meet local artists and makers covering a range of disciplines including ethical, sustainable clothing and textiles; printmaking and painting; wood, ceramics and papier-mâché. A huge variety of quality handmade gifts to suit all budgets.

Pop by and warm up with hot mulled apple juice and mince pies after a seasonal stroll along the riverside!

Icescape, a new, covered winter ice rink measuring over 12,000 square metres, is to launch at Icescape Westpoint in Exeter on Thursday 12th December 2024.

Icescape Westpoint will be installed at the South West’s premier event venue, Westpoint Arena, and can hold up to 400 skaters in each 45 minute skate session. The festive attraction will take place from Thursday 12th December 2024 to Sunday 5th January 2025.

Spoon Carving

Spoon Carving for Beginners

Suitable for those with no or little carving experience.

Starting with an axed-out blank you will use straight and curved knifes to carve your very own wooden spoon. With guidance from the Wild East Devon ranger, you will learn the correct and safe techniques involved in green wood carving and have time to work on your own spoon whilst practising your new skills. All tools and materials are provided, and tea, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available during breaks. Suitable for ages 14+ (all under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult) 10am to 14:30 at Seaton Wetlands....
