CEDA and the South West Athletics Academy (SWAA) are running the fourth annual Disability Athletics Festival at Exeter Arena on Wednesday 15th May. The Disability Athletics Festival is aimed at disabled people and those with additional needs but is open to all to take part. Most events are adaptable for all abilities.
Exeter Business Club’s chosen charity this year is CEDA, the Exeter based organisation that offers learning and social opportunities to disabled adults and children. CEDA’s Craig Bowden, seen here centre left, received a cheque for £1,500 from the club’s secretary Ben Didier.
Every year EBC chooses a city-based charity as their chosen cause. Funds are raised through membership fees and a variety of social events. Club members even joined in CEDA’s recent cycling challenge by riding three static bikes and pedalling away throughout one of their meetings.
It’s the perfect combination – biking and breakfast all under one roof. Exeter Business Club decided to add pedaling to the menu during their weekly breakfast meeting.
Three static bikes took centre stage where members cycled away in shifts, in between enjoying a full English breakfast, and clocking up the equivalent of a 40 mile trip in 90 minutes.
This wasn’t just to counteract the effect of a good fry up – but to help raise money and awareness of Exeter based charity CEDA who provide learning and social opportunities for adult and children with disabilities.
