Curator Liz Cooper launches a new touring exhibition entitled ‘What Do I Need to Do to Make it OK?’ at Devon Guild of Craftsmen this Spring. The title is taken from a talk by participating artist Dorothy Caldwell.
An examination of the work of Roald Dahl and how his childhood experiences might have influenced his writing. The show, performed by Nick Wood, will compare events described in tales from Roald Dahl’s childhood with characters in his books. He suggests how we all have something within ourselves to write about and that these stories should be told. The show will include the use of puppets inspired by the illustrations of Quentin Blake, and some audience participation.
