The start of the sixth annual national street ping pong festival is upon us and once more, Exeter gets in on the action with a spectacular launch at the city’s Princesshay Shopping Centre this Friday 19th June.
Centre stage will be the true stars of the show – 10 full sized table tennis tables located right at the heart of Exeter’s busy shopping district.
The tables will be there for anyone to play on in ‘Random Acts of Ping Pong’, but the tables will also play host to master classes from local and national tennis table stars throughout the day on Friday.
What do you get if you take 1,000 ping pong tables, 10,000 bats and 60,000 balls, and place them in the streets and open spaces of 19 towns and cities nationwide?
The answer is, of course, Ping! - probably the biggest and coolest ping pong festival in the world and certainly the one with the most street cred.

Once again this summer, Exeter will see Ping! table tennis tables springing up in public places around Exeter as part of the National Table Tennis Association’s Ping! initiative.
Active Devon, the local organisers ensured that last year’s event was a runaway success with over 30,000 people from across Exeter enjoying table tennis for free over the summer.
