An acclaimed playwright will collaborate with University of Exeter experts on a new production exploring how LGBTQ+ communities have experienced loneliness and isolation in the past and present, including during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rainbow flags flying with Pride at University of Exeter

Rainbow flags are flying at the University of Exeter’s campuses this week as staff and students mark Exeter Pride.

The University is a key sponsor of the event, which celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities and is honouring the occasion through proudly flying the emblem and hosting a Pride on Campus event to raise awareness of the staff and student LGBTQ+ networks.

A giant rainbow flag has been wrapped around the inside of the University’s Forum building, and they are also flying outside the Washington Singer building on the Streatham campus...

Second LGBTQ+ ceilidh to be held in Exeter

A FOLK dance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer plus (LGBTQ+) people and friends will be held at Exeter Phoenix in Gandy Street, Exeter on Saturday, April 1.

The ceilidh, which will run from 8pm to 11pm, is being run by Gender Free Dance, an organisation that promotes folk dancing in a safe and non-discriminatory environment.

Gender Free Dance held its first such ceilidh, which was well-attended, in Exeter in November.
