Postbridge Visitor Centre is about to embark on a new chapter in its history as it undergoes a £500,000 extension. Donkeys in Sidmouth are going on an autumn adventure after their grazing enclosure was temporarily extended to include a wild valley.
Some 40 animals from international animal welfare charity, The Donkey Sanctuary, will be allowed to roam freely across part of the site, in an area that includes hillside, woods and fields.
The donkeys will roam the area for six weeks and it is hoped that by grazing the field in a more natural way they may help to increase the biodiversity of the grassland.

On Saturday 7th September Devon Ramblers celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Devon Ramblers, part of the Ramblers Charity, with an event on Hookney Tor, Dartmoor. Nine walks were led by Devon’s local Ramblers groups, each taking a different route to walk to Hookney Tor, which is between Moretonhampstead and Widecombe. Local artist Leo Jamelli has collaborated with the University of Exeter to create a piece of emotional public artwork to be displayed in City Centre.
The large-scale artwork, created to celebrate carers, will be shown between 8.00pm and Midnight on both 20th and 21st September. It will appear on the historic St Catherine's Almshouse, on the site of the iconic ruin in the Princesshay shopping precinct.
