An array of Big Screen Events including children’s favourites, live theatre and live dance will come to Vue Exeter this May.

A musical score, written by Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber, is to make its debut at this year’s Devon County Show (16-18 May), in celebration of the Pony Club’s 90th year.

Over 60 Pony Club jockeys and their four-legged friends will take part in a Pageant in the main arena at 4.15pm on Saturday 18th May, the final day of the Devon County Show. It will conclude with a spectacular ride to this piece of music composed exclusively in celebration of the Pony Club’s milestone anniversary by the musical legend himself.

Time to join the Race for Life in Exeter

AS the bank holiday approaches, organisers of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life are calling on the people of Exeter to put their time off to good use by picking a date and event to help beat cancer.

This year, for the first time, Cancer Research UK is inviting everyone – women, men and children – to join the Race for Life.

There are five Race for Life events to choose from in Exeter - including the much-loved 5k and 10k events, as well as Pretty Muddy 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy Kids.

THERE was great football and a fantastic final at the annual Exeter City FC One Game One Community Group futsal tournament, where 10 teams competed for trophies and medals.

In the final, “Space Raiders” beat “Ability Counts B” 4-2 following a well contested game. The tournament featured teams including refugees and asylum seeking young people, players with a disability and the recently formed LGBT team, Exeter Apollo.

Race for Life turns Exeter pink!

Monday saw Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life team with the help of cancer survivor Lyndsey Balsdon, Snap Fitness, and Starbucks, paint the town pink across various locations in the City of Exeter.

The team at Snap Fitness took part in the event by holding a Spinathon. Starbucks also supported the event by handing out Race for Life Coffee cup holders to all their customers, and they even managed to turn their Coffee pink for the day to support such a fantastic cause.

Care Quality Commission maintains RD&E rating as ‘Good’ following inspection

The RD&E has a “strong caring culture” with staff committed to putting patients’ needs first, according to a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report released today.

The RD&E has maintained its ‘Good’ rating from the CQC – with some services showing improvements - after the CQC carried out a rigorous but routine and announced inspection of many of the Trust’s acute and community services earlier this year.

A legal team from Exeter solicitors Cartridges Law will be taking to the road this May in support of the Law Society’s national campaign to ensure everyone has access to legal advice when they need it.

They will be holding free legal drop in sessions in St Thomas and Pathfinder Village over four dates in May and September.
