Coby’s parents in plea to keep sharing the message as flu vaccination campaign reaches 750,000 people

The parents of a Devon boy who died from flu in January this year say they are overwhelmed by massive public support for their vaccination campaign, and are urging people to keep spreading the message.

The #ThumbsUpForCoby flu vaccination message, named after nine-year-old Coby Simons, has reached approximately 200,000 people nationwide on social media since it was launched by his brave parents Louise Simons and Jamie Chrichard at the start of October.

Influential film critic Mark Kermode appointed Honorary Professor

Influential film critic Mark Kermode has been appointed as an Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter.

Dr Kermode will join the University’s film studies department – ranked as among the best in the world, to collaborate with academics on teaching programmes and research.

Celebrations as new stand is unveiled at Exeter City Football Club

There were celebrations at Exeter City Football Club today when it officially unveiled its new £3.4 million stadium redevelopment.

Appeal after hedgehog found poisoned in Devon garden

The RSPCA is appealing to locals of Totnes for information after a hedgehog found dead in a back garden was found to have been poisoned.

Found by a homeowner in Riverside, Totnes last Friday afternoon (19 October) the hedgehog had blood around his mouth and nose.

The concerned homeowner took the hedgehog's body to a local vet where it is thought the hedgehog died as a result of poisoning.

The RSPCA has issued an appeal for information to find out more about what happened.
