Exeter Punks Picnic is a three day music event taking place in August. Organised by Old Hat Promotions, this is the first year such an event has been held in Exeter.

The event will span three days, (18th-20th August) and two venues - the Barnfield Theatre and the newly reopened from fire damage Cavern Club.

Thousands join the fight against cancer at Exeter Race for Life

Westpoint Arena, Exeter became a sea of pink on Sunday as thousands of women joined the fight against cancer by taking part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life. Just under 4,000 mums, daughters, sisters and friends showed their incredible commitment to the cause as they came together over the weekend to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Now organisers of the Pretty Muddy, 5k and 10k event are sending a heart-felt message of thanks to everyone who took part and all their supporters. An unusual dog who has been repeatedly overlooked at an animal rescue centre is hoping to find her paw-fect forever home.

Daisy has been cared for by the team at RSPCA Little Valley Animal Shelter in Exeter after her previous owner gave her away after finding herself unable to cope with two dogs who had been brought over from America.

Daisy, who is an American Black and Tan Coonhound, has been waiting for almost six months with little interest from those looking to adopt a dog from the charity.

Chudleigh street party to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer

Local lady Wendy from Chudleigh will be hosting her annual, fun-filled street party on Saturday September 2nd.

This year she will be raising money for a charity close to her heart, Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Wendy, owner of the Bishop Lacy Inn on Fore Street organises the community event to bring everyone together for a day of celebration that anyone can come along to free of charge.

The road will be closed from 12pm – 12am so the party can take place. There will be live bands from 2pm to 11pm and a raffle with local companies helping out for free.

Police appeal after robbery in Tiverton

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Tiverton on Saturday 22 July 2017.

The incident took place just after 1.30pm at ‘Cash 4 Clothes’ on Leat Street in Tiverton.

A male offender entered the premises holding a small blade and demanded money and then pushed the victim, a woman in her 40s, to the ground before making off with cash.

EATS! at Princesshay Summer Party

On Thursday 27th July, Princesshay will host its Eats! Summer party with cooking demonstrations, samples, live music, face painting and a competition giving one lucky person a chance to win a mini cruise for two.

Traffic signals to be replaced at busy Exeter junction

Work to replace traffic signals at a busy junction in Exeter will get underway on Monday 31 July.

Essential maintenance is needed on the signals at the junction of Blackboy Road/Polsloe Road/Pinhoe Road and Mount Pleasant Road in Exeter. The traffic signals, poles and electrics are at the end of their serviceable lives and will be replaced, while repairs will also be carried out to cable ducting. Employee owned law firm increases profit share staff pay-out

The first large law firm in the UK to bring in employee ownership has shared £800,000 equally between all of its eligible staff members. Devon Wildlife Trust is inviting families to ‘bee creative in the garden’ at a special wild bee family fun day in Exeter.

On August 3, the charity will be opening the gates to the Cricklepit Mill wildlife garden for a family event that aims to celebrate bumblebees and solitary bees, heroes of the pollinator world.
