Visit the site which first inspired Peter Orlando Hutchinson to become a landscape archaeologist. High Peak today once again resembles the open hill-top Hutchinson once knew. Recent tree-felling allowed excavation (in September 2011) of what is left of this much eroded site which dates to two discrete time periods: Neolithic (prehistoric) and Dark Age (early historic).
