An online veterinary platform on a mission to make the profession a better place to work has been launched earlier this year in late January, by local Totnes veterinarian Olly King.

TV PRESENTER and journalist Steph McGovern is supporting a new skill-sharing initiative celebrating the talents that older people in Devon can share with the younger generation.

Number of companies In Devon hits record high

Latest figures show that the number of businesses in Devon reached a record high during 2021 – despite the continuing economic challenges resulting from the pandemic.

The total number of registered companies in Devon rose to 60,022. During the year 6,825 new businesses were registered in the county.

The statistics come from the Inform Direct Review of Company Formations using data from Companies House and the Office for National Statistics.

Plymouth formed the highest number of new businesses (1,416), followed by Exeter (1,054) and Teignbridge (824).

Trading Standards is urging householders, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, to be on their guard for rogue traders who might try to cash in on the damage caused by recent storms.

A series of workshops are being held in Devon over the next month to help farmers and landowners improve the condition of their soil.

Devon County Council has launched the Farming Recovery programme to help farm businesses to adopt best practice of soil and nutrients management on their land.

A new support programme has been launched by Devon County Council to help small businesses and community groups.

Get Set to Tender is offering free support to Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) who have less than 250 employees, to help them respond to public sector organisation tendering opportunities.

I always felt healthy, and luckily, I haven’t suffered any major health implications, so when I attended my annual health check with my gp, I was surprised to find out that my blood sugar level was 43.
