Director of Public Health Devon calls for one more big effort to stop the second wave of coronavirus

As Devon enters a second national lockdown, the county's Director of Public Health is making a last appeal for one more effort and urging everyone to “Act now to stop the virus in its tracks” and help prevent local health services from being overwhelmed this winter.

Exeter Chiefs have bolstered their front-row options ahead of the new 2020/21 season with the signing of South African prop Maks Van Dyk.

Exeter Quay photo featured in charity calendar

A photo of Exeter Quay on Christmas morning has been chosen to be included in RGB Building Supplies’ ‘Love where you live’ 2021 calendar, which will be sold to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance and Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

RGB had asked residents of the south west to send in photographs that celebrate the diverse scenery of the region, and the photo, taken by Kate Coldrick, is one of 12 entries the builders merchant picked for the calendar. Health experts hope a new online webinar series will inspire people to make changes to protect the planet and human health.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) has begun a new partnership with fire services in the region to boost its Covid-19 emergency response this winter.
