On Wednesday 11 December 2013 Exeter Choral Society will be performing at St James' Church, Mount Pleasant, Exeter. We look forward to welcoming our audience, in this our 70th anniversary year, the choir having been founded in 1943 as the Whipton Choral Society.
The program includes J S Bach's Cantata 140 "Sleepers Wake", F Schubert's Mass in G, and Christmas Carols by John Rutter.
Our Musical Director is Laurence Blyth and the choir will be joined by an orchestra led by Julie Hill with soloists: Elizabeth Drury, Julian Rippon and Edward Woodhouse...
Take three top notch string musicians - violinist Fenella Humphreys, viola player Rebecca Jones and cellist Vladimir Waltham - put them together - and the result is Chimera a string trio who play unbelievably exquisite music.
The talents of these outstanding young musicians will be showcased by Concerts in the West in a superb performances at St Michael's Church, Shute, near Axminster on 20 June, 7.30pm.
