Christmas returns to Castle Drogo after 7 years

Castle Drogo will be open for Christmas for the first time since a major conservation project began seven years ago to make the building watertight.

Although the building work now has the end in sight, there is still much work to be done to restore the castle’s grounds and interiors back into the Drewe’s family home, which is likely to continue into 2020. However, the building is now watertight, meaning that Christmas can return to the castle once again.

British Sign Language tours introduced at two top Devon heritage attractions

Seaton Tramway and Lundy Island, two very different and unique heritage attractions in Devon, have now introduced special tours aimed explicitly at Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) users.

The new filmed tours feature a BSL signer, to help BSL users get a better understanding of the information presented at both attractions, and help them feel engaged with the history of the sites.

Devon holiday parks celebrate unique double

Two award-winning holiday parks owned by the same Devon family have been awarded the highest accolade achievable in the tourism industry.

Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Beer

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in East Devon involving a motor home and a group of pedestrians.

The collision occurred at 11.07am on Tuesday 9 July at the junction of Common Lane and Fore Street in Beer, East Devon.

Weather and road conditions at the time of the RTC were believed to be good.
