Zion Lights is a science communicator who is known for her environmental advocacy work. She is author of The Ultimate Guide to Green Parenting, the first evidence-based book of its kind, as well as the nature poetry collection Only a Moment and the forthcoming Zero Waste Kids with Rob Greenfield.
Zion is a leading voice on environmental issues and climate action. She is the former Editor of The Hourglass, Extinction Rebellion's print newspaper, and was previously Co-Editor of JUNO magazine. Zion has written for The Metro, The Telegraph, City AM, BBC Wildlife Magazine, The Green Parent magazine, Resurgence magazine, The Ecologist and many other publications. Zion has also appeared on BBC Politics Live, Good Morning Britain, Sky News, The Andrew Neil Show, and the Danish television programme Debatten. She has been called “Britain’s greenest mother” by The Telegraph and “an eco-pragmatist, happily heavy on science” by The Guardian.
Zion is an astronomer and she has given a TED talk on stargazing. She has an MSc in Science Communication from The University of the West of England (UWE) and lives in Devon, UK, with her two children.
