What could be a better way to start, or perhaps finish, your Christmas shopping than browsing The Shops at Dartington’s magical fourteen on-site shops? Brimming with Christmas cheer, and selling a wide range of truly exceptional ‘one of a kind’ gifts, The Shops at Dartington is certain to bring joy to all this Christmas with their enchanting Christmas Fair on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December.

A weekend of festivities enjoyable for all the family, The Shops at Dartington’s Christmas Fair is one certainly not to be missed. With the smell of scrumptious mulled cider and tasty mince pies and the sound of carols from The Torbay Singers and jazz from John Shillito’s band filling the air, there is no better place to do your Christmas shopping this year. Seasonal food and drink will be available in abundance with an array of outdoor stalls from local food and drink producers including honey, chocolates and The Bloomberry Juice Company with their tasty freshly squeezed juices. In ‘The Food Shop’, taste buds will be tantalized with cheese and wine tastings from Lyme Bay Winery. Devon craftsmen and women will also be selling wares, providing the perfect opportunity to purchase some truly unique presents for your loved ones, whether it’s jewellery, embroidered gifts or Christmas trinkets. For those of you who are creative, purchase a pottery lesson at Crazy about Clay or visit the Tanner Bates Leather workshop. And don’t forget to pick up your locally grown Christmas tree from Dynamic Adventures.

Making sure the children are kept entertained there’s Dan on the Saturday and Elphic on the Sunday with their juggling and magic tricks, music and readings from Ros Brady’s book ‘Next To Me, A Robin’ in the Craft Gallery on the Saturday and a bouncy castle for toddlers, weather permitting.

Opened earlier this year, ‘The Food Shop’ is a food and drink lovers paradise, selling everything you could need for your Christmas feast. Bursting with homemade cakes, artisan fresh breads, premium locally sourced meats, tasty cheeses and tempting treats, you are sure to find the perfect Christmas present for everyone on your list or perhaps some treats for yourself. Why not create your own Christmas hamper either in store or online at www.shopsatdartington.co.uk. For those shopping online, The Shops at Dartington has made it hassle free with delivery options available or ‘click and collect’. Just make sure your orders are in before Thursday 18th December.

There’s also Dartington’s unique selection of shops to explore throughout the magical weekend. Browse the exquisite craft, pottery and glass collections and see live demonstrations of craft people at work. On the Saturday pop by the Glass Gallery where there will be the intricate art of glass engraving on display. The Shops at Dartington also offers stylish women’s and men’s fashion and accessories from hats to handbags. For the budding Marry Berry, the kitchen shop is a delight and for a spot of pampering browse the extensive collections available in the most tranquil of shops, ‘My Time’. With two on-site cafés, The Venus Company and Cranks, serving wholesome and freshly made treats, there is always time for a coffee at The Shops at Dartington!

The Shops at Dartington are owned by the Dartington Hall Trust, an independent charitable organisation, trading ethically and sustainably as a social enterprise in order to help support the Trust’s activities in Social Justice, Sustainability and the Arts.
