The traders in Cowick Street, St Thomas, Exeter recently lanched a special Easter campagain to encourage more shoppers to visit independent shops.

It echoes the campaign run at Christmas by independent retailers in Exeter in which shoppers were rewarded with stamps on a map which gained them entry to a free prize draw,

The Indie Easter Egg Hunt is running in Cowick Street, and a number of independent traders, cafes, shops and small businesses are taking part.

Shoppers collect little Easter Egg stickers that are placed against the name of the shop or business on a map to complete the hunt. Once a minimum of 12 eggs are collected, the map may be swapped for a real chocolate easter egg donated by Cartridges Solicitors, and a Certificate of Completion will be awarded to all taking part. Completed forms will also be entered into a prize draw which will take place on Friday 12 April. Prizes for the draw include a garnet necklace and earring set donated by Ivor Doble, a family ticket to watch Exeter City play at home on 20 April, a box of chocolates donated by Cafe at 36, and an assortment of vouchers donated by local traders.

Look out for a copy of the Indie Easter Egg Hunt poster and pick up a map from any of the traders displaying the map in their window.
