Killerton cider and apple festival provides entertainment for the whole family in celebration of national apple day. Set within the estate of Killerton, there will be various activities for all ages including a children’s bumble bee parade, William Tell archery, apple foraging and cooking, woodcrafts and cycle tours. This year will also see the grand unveiling of our ‘yarn-bombed’ apple tree which promises to be a spectacular collage of colours and pompoms. But that is not the only thing to see; our 200 year old apple press will be on display and there is the opportunity to bring your own apples to be pressed into juice. Various craft stalls and local produce will be available for you to browse throughout the festival to purchase mementos.
This year there will be live music from the Somerset Paddies, David Harbottle and the friendly cats and Spin 2 across the two days. In keeping with Devon’s cider heritage Morris Dancers will perform a dance to bless the orchard and on the Sunday will perform a mummers play. There will also be a juggler and magician for your entertainment. If all this builds up your appetite you can enjoy a traditional hog roast which can be washed down with Killerton’s award winning cider and apple juice and for the first time this year apple cocktails.
